Artist Statement
My architecturally inspired containers and vessels are created using solid hardwoods, bent and straight laminations, and veneers. I use woods of contrasting color and value to delineate the elements of each piece.
Most of my experience has been in creating furniture pieces. I have shifted the emphasis of my work to vessels and containers to allow myself more freedom from functional constraints and to explore forms on a very small scale that are inspired by much larger scale forms.
