Artist Statement
My pieces are best described as moody landscapes. They are created with layers of wax built up to create depth and transparency, then scraped to reveal areas of color hidden below the previous. scratching and scraping create texture, adding color into a scarred surface give each line character. The softness and inherent transparency of wax creates a dream-like finish.
