Artist Statement
Participating as a member of the New Art, New Artist College Student Program. With my work I attempt to create "a people's history in paint." My paintings reference political and historical subject matter, tying to help the viewer to interact with memories and emotions of the radical past and present. I believe that to create a better future we must connect to both our forgotten history and our marginalized present. It is my hope that my work can help others to make these connections, and provide small windows into an alternative paradigm.
