2015 Art Activity Zone 


Spend time at the Fair creating your own works of art in the Art Activity Zone. Located on The University of Michigan Diag, off of North University Avenue. This area is open Wed-Sat., 11am – 6pm.


The following kid-friendly art projects are open to all ages and free to the public.

 

Initial That! Monogram Tiles

Did you know the Greek meaning of monogram means “intertwined letters”? You’ll learn that and much more as you create beautiful monogrammed tiles suitable for framing.

 

Clay Fish Slab

Learn about the Great Barrier Reef in a contemporary way as you create your own clay fish. Get your hands dirty and take a chance with clay!



Burning Bright at the Fair

Make a beeswax candle with the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor!  Beeswax candles are easy and fun to roll and decorate. You’ll even learn how to apply beeswax appliqués.



Found Object Animal Sculptures
By: University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

Build found object animal and dinosaur sculptures.  Using a variety of objects   you will make animals you might find at their museum.

Bubble Wands Made by YOU- FRI & SAT ONLY

Bubbles at the Fair! Design simple wire bubble wands decorated with beads or create a more complex star, heart or flower shape. All ages are encouraged to participate! Bubble solution will be provided to try out your creation.
