2015 ART DEMO ZONE

Watch and learn the special techniques of our artists as they demonstrate what makes their artwork unique. The Art Demo Zone is located under the big maples on North University, Wednesday through Friday from 11am to 8pm and Saturday from 11am to 5pm.

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15TH

 
11am Potter’s Guild: Ceramics
Watch as Guild members demonstrate techniques for throwing clay.
 
12pm David Dallison: Watercolor
Watercolor isn’t scary. Learn techniques in control as David paints on-site and maybe you’ll be lucky enough to hear his stories of travel.
 
1pm Kristine Bolhuis: Jewelry
Make it move. Kristine will demonstrate methods for creating moveable joints used in her kinetic jewelry.
 
2pm Tanya Doskova: Digital Art
See the art of digital painting and animation on an iPad.
 
3pm Jenny Hill: Fiber
See felting in action - the most ancient textile. By rubbing wool and silk together with hands, soap and water, Jenny creates seamless, stitch free material.
 
4pm Deborah Geurtze: Printmaking
Be seduced by the world of printmaking as Deborah demonstrates plate making and monotypes.
 
5pm Cliff Lounsbury: Wood
Lathe turning for functional objects. Cliff will take requests from the crowd!
 
6pm Cali Hobgood: Photography
Cali will be demonstrating techniques of hand-coloring black and white photographs. Participants are welcome to try hand-coloring as well.

Find your voice through driftwood. Amy uses simple tools to cut, form and build Lake Superior collected driftwood into magnificent 3D sculptures.

Cali will be demonstrating techniques of hand-coloring black and white photographs.  Participants are welcome to try hand-coloring as well.
