2008 Street Art Fair Visual Art Workshop Program Application

The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is the original of the four art fairs that now comprise the Ann Arbor Art Fairs, together attracting over half a million attendees from across the nation. The Street Art Fair offers a unique and intimate workshop venue, and workshop leaders have the invaluable opportunity to share their talents with a diverse and supportive audience of art enthusiasts and collectors.

We strive to create an entertaining, educational and inviting sense of community through our programming, and encourage workshop leaders to play an active role in drawing the audience in to help them feel like an integral part of the experience.

2008 Street Art Fair Visual Art Workshop Program

The Street Art Fair has a tent on site called ArtZone Too, dedicated to interactive, innovative and educational visual art workshops that explore the hand made. As an extension of the Street Art Fair's mission to connect art and artists with an appreciative audience, the purpose of these workshops is to share and educate people about interesting visual art techniques and media.

Workshops are scheduled in two-hour blocks on Wednesday through Saturday from 11am to 5pm. Workshops should have an interactive component, and the more hands-on, the better. Workshops in the past have covered a variety of techniques and media from silk-screening and stenciling posters, to cutting up and customizing T-shirts, to hand coloring black and white photographs.

This year, the Fair is Going Green, and we encourage art workshops that raise environmental awareness through visual art. Workshops that deal with environmentally safe and sustainable techniques, tools and media and DIY functional art projects that reuse materials and empower participants are strongly encouraged.

The online application will be open until May 9, and applicants will be notified of their acceptance by the end of May.
