Artist Statement
Miranda Heward's artwork is a mixture of photorealism and geometric design created entirely with colored pencil. Even the solid black background is created by layering pencil on paper. Her pieces are generally nature inspired and many are symbolic of the various human experiences we all encounter. The intention of the artist is to convey hope and understanding, and also to provoke a sense of wonder and appreciation towards nature and the beautiful animals in it.
