Artist Statement
My work is a question of identifying with my characters. You must respond to their realness-to what they bring to you and what you can bring to them. I am a painter, printmaker and photographer, creating 2-d mixed media originals I call ?environmental portraits?. I use my original photograph, create a photo silkscreen, then hand paint layers of acrylic and Prismacolor pencil bringing vibrant color and movement to my high contrast black ink images. My work is narrative in nature, storytelling about day-to-day trials and tribulations and rejoicing in the simple accomplishments.
